idle

jotNrot

I found today that time will pass
whether I do or don’t
So I will do and carry on
and lay aside what won’t
It’s push and pull, all uphill
but weighs so much less
Than carrying the load for two
And idling in the past

So keep your head hanging low
and your eyes fixed past my shoulder
Stop only if I block your way
And never let your eyes linger
And I will never take a smile
For a hidden invitation
To lift my eyes up to yours
And give birth to expectation
